Beautiful—pleasurably exalts mind or spirit, gives pleasure to the senses, befitting (appropriate, seemly, proper decent) or Comely (having a pleasing appearance not homely or plain)  Seemly (good looking handsome agreeably fashioned, attractive suited to the occasion

Esther 2:12
12 Before a young woman’s turn came to go in to King Xerxes, she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and cosmetics.

Isa 52:7 and Romans 10:15
         “Beautiful are the feet” 
Ever wonder why the feet?  I do.  What is so beautiful about the feet?

1 Sam 16:7
         “but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Here we have the heart that Christ looks at to determine our beauty.

1 Peter 3:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Col 3:12
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Gal 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

What is our Beauty Treatment? 

  • Love—agape, strong affection for another arising out of kinship; warm attachment or devotion; unselfish loyal and benevolent; concern for the good of another; a score of zero
  • Joy—the emotion evoked by well-being success or good fortune; or by the prospect of possessing what one desires; a source or cause of delight
  • Peace—A state of tranquility or quiet; freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions
  • Patience—bearing pains or trials without complaint; the refraining from the enforcement of something that is due to you like debt which is Forbearance; steadfast despite opposition, difficult adversity;
  • Gentleness—mildness of manners or disposition, meekness
  • Kindness—moral goodness, integrity; to be kind= of sympathetic or helpful nature, of a forbearing nature; to give pleasure or relief; benign with a gentle disposition
  • Goodness—uprightness of heart and life; the nutritious, flavorful, or beneficial part of something; of favorable character or tendency; virtuous, right, commendable
  • Faithfulness—steadfast in affection or allegiance; firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty; conviction of the truth of anything , belief; firm belief in something in which there is no proof.  Which is the Shield…why the shield?
  • Self-control—virtue of one who masters his desires and passions; restrained exercised over one’s own impulse, emotions or desires.
