This Week: What we can do when we trust in God
· 1 Kings 17:1 (Elijah Announces a Great Drought)
· 1 Kings 17:2-6 (Elijah Fed by Ravens)
o He listen to God and truly trusted that he would provide
· 1 Kings 17:7-24 (Elijah and the Widow at Zarephath)
o Two Sides to the story
o The Widow:
§ Trusted in the man of God
§ Something bad happens
§ God intervenes
o Elijah:
§ Follows God advice
§ Something bad happens
§ Ask God to intervene
o When he says God will do something he does it
o When we walk in anointing we can intercede on behalf of others and see God move.
· 1 Kings 18:1-15 (Elijah and Obadiah)
· 1 Kings 18:16-45 (Elijah on Mount Carmel)
o When we have God’s strength we can stand up even when the odds seemed to be against us.
Final Point: Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength
